Sarah Stair joined The Academy coaching staff in Fall 2018 and is excited to be back for her fifth season with The Academy!   

Sarah was the head Varsity coach at Columbus Christian High School in Columbus, IN from May 2017-October 2020, where she had been the head JV and assistant varsity coach during the 2014‐2016 seasons.  Her Varsity teams finished as the Southern Roads Conference champions and State Runner-Up in the Indiana Christian Schools Athletic Association (ICSAA) state touranmetn every season between 2018-2020, and she celebrated her 100th win in four seasons as a head varsity coach in October 2021. In addition, the club teams that Sarah has coached the past three seasons finished 24-7, 18-4, and 31-4, winning a combined total of nine gold medals, three 2nd place finishes in gold, one 3rd place finish in gold, and five 1st place finishes in the silver bracket. 

Sarah has a passion for coaching volleyball, and she desires to ensure that her players have solid fundamentals every time they step onto the court.  She focuses on both player development and overall court strategy, and she is excited to work with the 16-1 non-travel team this season!  Sarah earned her Head Coach Level 1 certification in the summer of 2017 from the Art of Coaching Volleyball, and she is also certified as a Provisional volleyball referee of the USA Volleyball Association. Sarah had the incredible
honor of being awarded the prestigious Jack Cramer Ideals of Athletic Competition Award for Bartholomew County in the summer of 2021, which is given to one female and one male coach or athlete each year who exemplifies characteristics that include dedication, determination, fair play, and sportsmanship.

When Sarah is not coaching, she is working as an Accounting Director at a staffing company and is co‐ owner of RMS Synergy Group, LLC.  She resides in Columbus, IN with her two teenage daughters, who have both played on teams for The Academy.
